College Basketball is heating up, as teams are making runs and jockeying to get into position for the NCAA tournament, heading into the last games of the regular season. Last night saw Virginia head into Duke and knock off the Blue Devils, showing the rest of the ACC they are ready to go on a run down the stretch. In another impressive performance, Texas defeated Kansas, giving them a an addition to their resume’ that will help their seeding in the Big Dance..

We took a chance on Holy Cross to cover 17.5 points against Colgate and they failed to do so. That dropped our Best Bet of the Day record to 30-18 for 2022.

We went a respectable 8-2 betting the Money Line and our record is 313-70 (82%) in that category.

In the Dudes newest feature we went 2-1 betting the spread on games involving Top-25 teams and we are 14-8 in that category.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

Syracuse 12-11 (-3.5) at Boston College 9-12: I’m taking another shot with Syracuse in this one. After bottoming out at Pittsburgh, they have bounced back with 3 straight wins and are playing much better. Boston College is trending in the opposite direction and should have trouble solving the Syracuse 2-3 zone.

PAPA DUDES PICK: Syracuse -3.5

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS:

#18 Marquette 16-7 at UConn 15-6 (-6.5): This is another great game in the Big East between two teams who are equal in every way. The Golden Eagles are coming off a big win over Villanova and have some momentum. On the other hand, UConn lost two games last week against Creighton (at home) and Villanova. This is a big game for them as they try to stop the bleeding. They might win but I like Marquette and the points.

PAPA DUDES PICK: Marquette +6.5

#1 Auburn 22-1 (-2) at Arkansas 18-5: First of all why is Arkansas not ranked? They are 18-5 in a power conference and they are on an 8-game winning streak. Auburn is coming in after a near upset against lowly Georgia. The Razorbacks are going to be ready and the building will be packed. Can they pull off the upset? I’m not sure but it’s worth a shot on betting them.

#5 Kentucky 19-4 (-11) at South Carolina 13-9: Kentucky should win this game, but is the spread too high?

#15 Villanova 17-6 (4.5) at St.John’s 13-9: These are the kinds of games Villanova wins.

#11 Illinois at #3 Purdue 20-3 (-6): This is another great matchup to watch tonight. The Illini are playing very well as they invade East Lafayette. This is a spread that is unbettable unless you think Illinois is going to win. Since I have to pick for this column, I’ll take Illinois and the points.

#14 Wisconsin 18-4 at #17 Michigan State 17-5 (-4): The Spartans are coming off an inexcusable loss at Rutgers in which they were totally dominated. They will come into this one ready to rebound. However, they are facing a tough bunch of Badgers who will have no fear. I’m sticking with the home court advantage on this one.

#12 UCLA 16-4 (-7.5) at Stanford 14-8: The Bruins are coming off of two losses last week and need a bounce back tonight against an unpredictable Stanford team. Not confident here but I’ll stay with UCLA.
