Free Pick: Texas A&M (7-2) at Mississippi (7-2) 11/13/21

It seems like we pick a game involving Mississippi every week and here comes another big one. The Aggies come into Oxford and might be establishing themselves as the No.2 team in the SEC. If not for of early season conference losses, they would be in the driver’s seat to play Georgia for the SEC title. Let’s see if they can stay on a roll.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Texas A&M 28.5 Total Team Points The Aggies are averaging 29 points per game which is identical to the line. The total seems a little too high but it is based on the Ole Miss defense which has the reputation of giving up a lot of points. However, on closer inspection, they have only given up 26 points or more in three games. Plus the A&M offense is not exactly explosive. This total is too risky and unpredictable.

Mississippi: 27.5 Total Team Points Normally, the Rebels’ total team points line is a lot higher. But, because of the respect for the A&M defense (holding opponents to 15 points per game), and an Ole Miss offense that has sputtered (by their standards) the last four games, the line is what it is. I’m not sure what the Ole Miss offense is at this point and I’m staying away from this line.

OVER/UNDER: 55.5 Combined Team Points The same theme continues. The over/under is much lower than in recent Mississippi games. Vegas is clearly banking on the Aggies to limit the amount of points Mississippi is going to score. Again, don’t have a good feeling one way or the other on this one.

POINT SPREAD: Texas A&M is a 2.5-point favorite This is a line that is simple as I always say. If you like the Rebels take them to cover because they will likely win by 3. If you like the Aggies, bet them all day long.
