Free Pick: SMU (8-2) at Cincinnati (10-0) 11/20/21

This is the last big, barrier between Cincinnati and an undefeated regular season. The Bearcats have been sleepwalking the last four weeks and they better be at their best against SMU. The Mustangs have a high-powered offense that is extremely dangerous. They will put up points and the Bearcats are going to have to be good on offense. This should be a great game. Let’s see if we can find something to bet on.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

SMU: Total Team Points Total: 25.5 points The Mustangs are putting up 42 points and 499 total yards of offense and have a high powered attack. They have scored 26 points or more in every game they have played. I see no reason why they can’t score 26 this week against the Bearcats. I like SMU OVER 25.5 team points.

Cincinnati: Total Team Points Total: 39.5 points Cincinnati has a good offense led by a veteran quarterback, which is always a plus, going into big games. They are scoring 39 points per game and 419 total yards. The SMU defense is mediocre and they are allowing 440 yards per game and have struggled against good teams. However, the Bearcats haven’t been as good the last few weeks. I’m really pulling to Cincy to win, and I think they will, but I will take Cincinnati UNDER 39.5 team points.

OVER/UNDER TEAM TOTALS: 65 Combined Team Points This is a tricky line and I don’t like anything about it. For some reason, call it a hunch, I think this game will be UNDER the combined team points.

POINT SPREAD: Cincinnati is an 11.5-point favorite This line is a little scary if you like Cincinnati. I would think if they are going to cover, they will have to score 35 points at the least. They might have to score that much to win outright. As I said before, I’m rooting my butt off for the Bearcats, because I want to see them put the pressure on the stuff shirts of the playoff committee, and force them to make a critical decision to take them or reject them for the Final Four. I think they will win but not cover.
