Free Pick: San Francisco 9-7 at LA Rams 12-4 1/9/22

The 49ers have it all in front of them in this game. Beat the Rams and they are in regardless of anything else. On the other hand, if theylose this game they have to hope Atlanta knocks off the Saints and they can take the back door in. For the Rams, win and they will be the No.2 seed in the NFC. But if they lose and Arizona wins, they will lose the NFC West and fall all the way to No.5. Let’s see what we can bet.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

San Francisco: 19.5 Total Team Points It would appear that the Niners are going to have Jimmy Garoppolo and Elijah Mitchell back for this very important contest. These two guys are essential for the 49ers’ chances. They are averaging 25 points and 383 yards of total offense per game. They have a good running game and they are capable of moving the ball on a Los Angeles defense that is capable of giving up points. One would have to think the Niners are going to have score at least 20 to win. I’m taking San Francisco OVER 19.5 Total Team Points

Los Angeles: 24.5 Total Team Points The Rams’ offense is scoring 27 points per game and Matthew Stafford has thrown for 4,648 yards and 38 touchdowns. Wideout, Cooper Kupp, is having one of the best seasons ever with 138 catches for 1,829 yards and 15 touchdowns. Running back, Sony Michel has been good the last half of the year giving Stafford, a threat, rushing the ball. The San Francisco defense has been steady and they can slow the Rams down. I like Los Angeles UNDER 24.5 points.

OVER/UNDER 44.5 Total Combined Team Points This line doesn’t do much for me and I can see it going either way. I’m staying away from betting this line.

POINT SPREAD: Los Angeles is a 4.5-point favorite The Rams are favored and rightfully so. They have won four in a row and are taking dead aim at the NFC West division. But, they are in the playoffs regardless and the 49ers have to win to get in. Will that be enough to lead the 49ers to victory?
