Free Pick: Ohio State (10-1) at Michigan (10-1) 11/27/21

This is another huge game between two bitter rivals who have gone into this game with Big Ten Championship aspirations on so many occasions. Ohio State has won eight straight, 15 out of 17, and are 17-3 in this series since 2000. And, despite the last 20 years, Michigan still leads the overall series, with a record of 58-51 and six ties. Is this the year that Jim Harbaugh finally beats the Buckeyes? Let’s see what Vegas thinks.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Michigan: 26.5 Total Team Points Michigan has a very balanced offense and they are averaging 37 points per game. They will need to be able to run the ball effectively to keep the clock moving, and limit the possessions the Ohio State offense gets. The Buckeyes are hitting on all cylinders and their defense is playing better also. If Michigan is going to win, I think they are going to have score at least 30 points, unless weather becomes an issue. And, at this point, it is supposed to be 36 and sunny, so that shouldn’t be a factor. I like Michigan UNDER 26.5 team points.

Ohio State: 37.5 Total Team Points This total seem a little high to me, even though they are averaging 47 points and 550 total yards per game. Quarterback, C.J. Stroud is coming off an incredible game against Michigan State, where he completed 32 of 35 passes for 432 yards and 6 touchdowns. But, Michigan is a helluva lot better on defense than the Spartans. They are allowing only 16 points and 306 total yards per game. I think they will have some success against Ohio State. I will take Ohio State UNDER 37.5 Total Team Points.

OVER/UNDER: 65 Combined Team Points Vegas is anticipating a shootout and it could end up as one. But, I’m old school, and I remember the slugfests of the past between these two great rivals. That hasn’t been the case lately and I think there will be scoring but 65 points is a bit much for me. I’m betting UNDER 65 combined team points.

POINT SPREAD: Ohio State is a 8.5-point favorite Betting this spread, depends upon how much respect you have for Michigan. Ohio State is certainly capable of covering the 8 points with their explosive offense and bevy of wide receivers. The question becomes; can Michigan limit the big plays in the Buckeye passing game?

AARON’S PICK: Michigan +8.5

PAPA DUDES PICK: UNDER 65 combined team points
