Free Pick: Minnesota (5-5) at San Francisco (5-5) 11/28/21

In reality, this is an elimination game for one of these two teams, in the race for a wild card spot in the NFC. Both teams have won two in a row and are in a three-way tie with New Orleans for the last wild card. The Vikings beat Green Bay last week for their best win of the year, after losing a couple of games they could have won. The Niners beat the Rams two weeks ago and took care of Jacksonville last Sunday. Let’s look at the angles.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

San Francisco: 24.5 Total Team Points The 49ers are scoring 24 points per game and have been improving each week on offense They are going up against a Viking defense that is giving up 24 points and 379 total yards per game. The Niners are running the ball better as of late, and they should have some success against the Vikings. They will need to make some plays in the passing game to exploit an average Minnesota secondary. I’m taking San Francisco OVER 24.5 Total Team Points

Minnesota 23.5 Total Team Points The Minnesota offense has been playing better the last five games. Quarterback, Kirk Cousins, is criticized a lot, but his statistics say he shouldn’t be. This week he will be facing a 49ers defense that is allowing only 22 points and 318 total yards. However, last week the Vikings scored 34 points against an excellent Green Bay defense. I like Minnesota OVER 23.5 points.

OVER/UNDER 49 Total Combined Team Points Since I took the under for both teams total points, I’ll stay consistent and go OVER 49 points.

POINT SPREAD: San Francisco is a 3-point favorite We see this game going either way. If the game was in Minnesota, the Vikings would be favored by 3, so it is basically a pick-em game. The key will be how well the Vikings defense plays against a decent, but not overwhelming 49ers offense.

PAPA DUDES PICK: OVER 49 combined team points

AARON’S PICK: Minnesota +3
