Free Pick: Miami 8-7 at Tennessee 10-5 1/2/22

This is a key game with playoff implications for both teams. Miami has won seven in a row and has recovered from a miserable 1-7 start. If they win their last two games they are in the playoffs which would be a remarkable achievement considering their miserable start. The Titans won a big game over the 49ers and are currently the No.2 seed in the AFC. They have an outside chance of moving up to No.1 but they could also drop completely out, too. This is another huge game in the AFC.

TOTAL TEAM TOTALS:

Miami: Total Team Points 17.5 The Dolphins are averaging 20 points and 311 total yards per game which isn’t very imposing to their opponents. But during their winning streak, they have been improving week by week. Still, they are challenged to score points and that makes every game close. The Titans are physical and have been consistent all year on defense. I will take Miami slightly OVER 17.5 team points.

Tennessee: 22.5 Total Team Points The Titans are averaging 24 points and Miami’s defense is allowing 21 points per game so this line is just about right. The Titans will try and run the ball and hope Ryan Tannehill can stay away from turnovers and make some big plays. Miami has been playing very well on defense during their winning streak and they should be able to matchup with Tennessee’s offense. I’ll take Tennessee slightly UNDER 22.5 team points.

OVER/UNDER 40 Combined Team Point Totals: This should be low-scoring and the defenses should control the game. I’m staying away from this line.

POINT SPREAD: Tennessee is a 3.5-point favorite All signs point to this being a really close game that either team can win. Miami is on a roll and are fully capable of coming into Nashville and winning. Tennessee proved last week that they are learning how to win big games without Derrick Henry. This is a tough pick and the Dudes aren split.
