Free Pick: LA Chargers 9-7 at Las Vegas 9-7 1/9/22

These two rival AFC West teams will play a winner-take-all in the last regular season game of the year. The Chargers beat the Raiders 28-14 earlier in the year and most would agree they are the better team. But the Raiders have hung in there and were clutch last week against Indianapolis winning on the road to stay alive. This should be a great game.

Las Vegas: 22.5 Total Team Points The Raiders have been up and down offensively, and have been unable to establish any kind of a running game. Quarterback Derek Carr has thrown for 4,618 yards and 21 touchdowns and has been sensational without much help. He doesn’t have a big-time receiver and as mentioned earlier, not much of a rushing threat. Yet, the Raiders have won 9 games and if they can win this one they will make the playoffs. The Chargers‘ defense has struggles and they are giving up 27 points and 374 total yards per game. I’m taking Vegas OVER 22.5 Total Team Points

Los Angeles 26.5 Total Team Points The Chargers are as healthy as they have been in awhile. Justin Herbert has been extraordinary throwing for 4,631 yards and 35 touchdowns. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams have combined for 167 catches for 2,113 yards and 14 touchdowns. They are putting up 27 points per game and are going up against a Raiders’ defense that is improving and has played well the last two weeks. I like Los Angeles slightly OVER 26.5 points.
