Free Pick: Green Bay (3-1) at Cincinnati (3-1) 10/10/21

This game features a team (Green Bay), who is always competitive and a Super Bowl contender, and another one (Cincinnati), who seldom has been 3-1 in recent years. The Packers are on a three game winning streak after a terrible opening game and have erased a lot of doubts in so many areas. The Bengals rallied from a 14-0 halftime deficit last week, and will use this game as a measuring stick as to where they are at. Here is how they matchup.

QUARTERBACK:

Green Bay: Aaron Rodgers 80 completions out of 124 attempts for 897 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Cincinnati: Joe Burrow 78 completions out of 107 attempts for 988 yards, 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

The Packer quarterback has seen it all and done it all and has the edge over Joe Burrow in experience. But make no mistake, Burrow is an up and coming superstar. Advantage: Green Bay

RUNNING BACKS:

Green Bay: Aaron Jones 56 carries for 206, 2 TD’s. A.J.Dillon 30 carries for 136 yards.

Cincinnati: Joe Mixon 83 carries for 353 yards for 2 touchdowns.

Mixon is not supposed to play this week and that influences this game as the Bengals don’t have another back that has 10 carries. They will probably counter with Samaje Perine who was a great college back. Advantage: Green Bay

RECEIVERS:

Green Bay: DaVante Adams 31 receptions for 373 yards and Aaron Jones 13 for 126.

Cincinnati: Ja’Marr Chase 17 receptions for 297 and 4 touchdowns and Tyler Boyd 23 for 259.

Both teams have solid receivers but the Bengals have a little more depth. Advantage: Cincinnati

Defense: Both teams have comparable statistics and there isn’t much to choose from. Both are similar against the run, so no advantage there. They both are similar against the pass, again no advantage. Advantage: Neither

This one is a game that features the experienced, battle-tested Packers against the new-kid-on-the-block Bengals. More than likely Rodgers will play well and so will the rest of the team. The key will be if the Bengals are ready to take the next step and solidify themselves as a player in the tough AFC North division. Green Bay is a 3-point favorite.
