Free Pick: Denver 6-5 at Kansas City 7-4 12/5/21

This is a key divisional game for both teams. With their win last week over the Chargers, Denver has kept their playoff chances alive. A win in Kansas City would raise more than a few eyebrows around the NFL. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have won four in a row, and have taken their customary spot at the top of the AFC West. A win in this one would just further tighten their grip. Let’s look at the betting angles.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Denver: 20.5 Total Team Points Denver is averaging right at 21 points per game for the season. They don’t have impressive numbers and when you analyze games involving the Chiefs, it’s always a good idea to assess the opponents’ offensive ability. It would seem the Broncos don’t have enough firepower to score enough against an improving Kansas City defense. I’m taking Denver UNDER 20.5 team points.

Kansas City: 30.5 Total Team Points The Chiefs continue to have high team point totals, even though, they have only scored 31 or more points in two of their last seven games. Denver is playing good defense and they are holding teams to 18 points and 331 total yards per game. Unless, there are turnovers and easy points, given to the Chiefs, I like Kansas City UNDER 30.5 points.

OVER/UNDER: 47 Total Combined Team Points Again, I think this game is going to be around 27-17 or 30-14, something in that range. I will take the UNDER 47 combined team points.

POINT SPREAD: Kansas City is a 10-point favorite Obviously, Vegas still has a high regard for the Chiefs and their home field. And, you can couple that with the fact, that Denver is not held with much regard in their chances to make the playoffs. But 10 points is a lot to cover in the NFL. I think Kansas City has a good chance to win by more than this but I’m not totally confident betting on it.
