Free Pick: Dallas 8-4 at Washington 6-6 12/12/21

This is the first of two games between these two teams that might decide the NFC East division. The Cowboys have a two game lead over Washington, but a win here by the Football Team would narrow the gap to one. Washington has won 4 in a row to get into this position and they have a ton of momentum. If the Cowboys can pull off a win, they can pretty much lock up the division. Let’s look at the lines.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Dallas: 27.5 Total Team Points Dallas is averaging 29 points per game, and when they are healthy, they can put up big numbers and plenty of points. They should be at full strength for this game. The Football Team has been playing good defense during this winning strength, which started with a 29-19 victory over Tampa Bay. The Cowboys are fully capable of scoring 28 points in this game. However, I think the line is a little high. I’ll take the Cowboys UNDER 27.5 team points

Washington: 21.5 Total Team Points They are anything, but a high-scoring team. They have scored 22 or more points in only 5 of their 12 games in the season. Dallas has held their opponents to 22 or less points in 9 of the 12 games they have played. However, they allowed 36 against the Raiders and 30 to the Broncos in the last four weeks. They are vulnerable at times, especially in the secondary. The key will be whether or not Cory Heinicke can make enough plays throwing the ball. I’ll take Washington OVER 21.5 team points.

OVER/UNDER: 48 Combined Team Points This point total is pretty much where it should be. I could see if going either way..No bet for me on this line

POINT SPREAD: Dallas is a 4-point favorite. This obviously is a huge game for both teams. Dallas is a better team with more talent across the board. They have played well on the road and have a 5-1 record away from Jerry’s World. They should cover this spread. But, this is a rivalry game, that goes back a long time. Washington is playing tough, physical football and we think they have a chance, but how good are they?
