Free Pick: Baylor 10-2 vs. Oklahoma State 11-1 12/4/21

This is a rematch between two teams who played Oct.2nd in Stillwater, with Oklahoma State winning, 24-14 in a defensive battle. The Cowboys shut the Bears down offensively and their defense controlled the game. Baylor has made some improvements since that game, on offense but there are questions about whether quarterback, Gerry Bohanon will be able to play. Oklahoma State is coming off a huge victory over archrival Oklahoma last Saturday night,, and there is some concern over how they will recover from that emotional win. This has the potential of an upset. Let’s check out the betting angles.

Baylor: 21.5 Total Team Points The Bears are averaging 33 points and 446 yards of total offense. They are extremely balanced between the run and the pass. Running back, Abram Smith has for rushed 1,418 yards and 12 touchdowns and also is a huge threat catching the ball out of the backfield. They have a big time receiver in Tyquan Thornton who has 55 catches for 875 yards. They can score. The Oklahoma State defense is one of the best in the nation, yielding 282 yards per game. Can Baylor make enough plays to score enough points to win? I like Baylor OVER 21.5 team points.

Oklahoma State: 28.5 Total Team Points The Cowboys‘ offense is much different than in the past, as they are a run-first, pass-second team. They are balanced and average about as many yards rushing as they do throwing. They are averaging 32 points a game which is low for them, but their philosophy has changed and they are controlling the clock and playing at a slower pace. The Baylor defense is allowing 19 points per game and they are legit. I would take Oklahoma State UNDER 28.5 points.

OVER/UNDER: 46.5 Total Combined Team Points There is nothing I like about this line. I can see it a little bit above, or a little bit below. When I have no idea, I don’t bet.

POINT SPREAD: Oklahoma State is a 5.5-point favorite My feeling is this is going to be a down-to-the-wire type of game. Baylor is a lot better than they get credit for, and Oklahoma State is under a lot of pressure, as they have a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in their history. Can they handle the situation? I think they might win but I could see an upset for Baylor.
