NCAAF Free Pick: Alabama 11-1 vs. Georgia 12-0 12/4/21 December 1, 2021 Online Athens NCAAF Free Pick: Alabama 11-1 vs. Georgia 12-0 12/4/21 December 1, 2021 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Undefeated Georgia is a lock to make the college football playoffs, no matter what happens in this game. On the other hand, barring unforeseen circumstances, Alabama has to win to make the playoffs. Will those two sentences make any difference in the outcome? You have a team that is in, no matter what, against another team that has to win. That is something to consider. You also have an Alabama team that owns Georgia in the playoffs beating them every time they have met. Let’s see what Vegas thinks.TEAM TOTALS:Alabama: 23.5 Total Team Points The Crimson Tide is averaging 43 points and 492 total yards per game, but they are coming off their worst offensive performance in recent memory. They had 3 total points when they started their final drive in regulation. And, couple that with the fact that they are facing maybe the best defense in college football history. Georgia is allowing 7 points and 231 total yards per game ,which is unbelievable for college football in 2021. The most points scored on the Bulldogs in a game this year is 17 and in 7 of the 12 games they allowed 10 or less. The Alabama offense is the best they have faced, but I can’t argue with the statistics. I’ll take Alabama UNDER 23.5 total points.Georgia: 27.5 Total Team Points Lost in the brilliance of the Georgia defense, is the efficiency of the Bulldog offense. They are scoring 41 points and are rolling up 442 total yards of offense per game. They are improving each week on that side of the ball. The Alabama defense is better than most people think and they will pose a problem for Georgia. They are going to have to play well and keep Georgia from scoring very many points. I’ll take Georgia OVER 27.5 total points.OVER/UNDER: 50.5 Combined Team Points: I think this game is going to be in the 24-20, 24-17 range. Both teams are going to try and run the ball, and play a physical game. I would lean towards taking the UNDER.POINT SPREAD: Georgia is a 6.5-point favorite. When you look at the stats, you have to agree that the line is about right. Georgia has been regarded as the best team all year by just about anyone on the planet. But, nobody is unbeatable including them. Alabama has no fear of anyone (why should they), and I hate to think I had to beat them to reach the playoffs. Guess what; Georgia doesn’t have to beat them, they are in regardless. If forced to pick, I like Georgia to cover, but I seldom bet against Alabama.AARON’S PICK: Georgia -6.5 PAPA DUDES PICK: Alabama UNDER 23.5 team points
