Free NHL Western Conference Playoffs Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for 5/9/22

As hot as I’ve been picking the NBA, I am just as cold with the NHL. Sometimes, a gambler loses or just can’t get a feel for it, and that’s where I am at with hockey. But, this is a new week, and even though I’ve been struggling these games have been great.

We missed our Best Bet again as Carolina continues to beat me. Boston thumped them 5-2 to even up that series at 2-2. Our Best Bet of the Day record is now 51-36 since the All-Star Break.

We went a miserable 1-3 betting the MoneyLine as only Colorado came through with a win. Our overall record is now 351-200 as the playoffs continue.

The run for the Stanley Cup continues today with 4 more games on the schedule. Let’s see what Vegas is thinking about the two Western Conference games and see if we can get lucky.

Colorado at Nashville: Colorado leads the series 3-0: The Avalanche have a chance to sweep the series tonight in Game 4 against the outmanned Predators. Colorado won game three by a 7-3 score but the game was actually a lot closer. They were 4 for 5 on the power play and they as Gabriel Landeskog led the way with two goals. On a bad note, they did lose goaltender, Darcy Kuemper in the first period to an eye injury and he was replaced by Pavel Francouz who had 18 saves on 20 shots. Nashville had played well in spurts, taking the Avalanche to overtime in Game 2, and were tied at 3 with 7:48 left in the 2nd period of Game 3. They simply don’t have the horses to stay with Colorado if the Avalanche are focused. I think Colorado closes out the series tonight but the Preds won’t go down without a fight. Papa Dudes Pick: Bet the MoneyLine on Colorado -250

Calgary at Dallas: Dallas leads the series 2-1: Veteran winger Joe Pavelski and young goaltender Jake Oettinger have led the Stars to a 2-1 lead in this series. Pavelski scored two goals including the game winner in both Game 2 and Game 3. Oettinger followed up his shutout in Game 2, by stopping 39 out of 41 shots including a breakaway by Johnny Gaudreau with 3:17 left in the 3rd period. Dallas scored the final 3 goals of the game and have a chance at gaining total control with a win tonight in Game 4. Calgary has played solid hockey but haven’t been able to solve Oettinger as they have only scored 3 goals in the first 3 games. They are getting plenty of shots, but very few are finding the back of the net. The Flames have their backs to the wall and they are feeling the pressure of losing a first round series they are heavily favored in. I’m going to stick with them to get a win tonight, and even up this series as they head back to Calgary. But, I’m not betting much because my confidence level is pretty low. PAPA DUDES PICK: Bet the MoneyLine on Calgary -160
