Free NHL Western Conference Playoffs Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for 5/14/22

Last night was another great night of hockey as we now will have 5 first round series that will be settled by a final winner-take-all 7th game. Florida eliminated the Capitals, but Dallas and the Rangers won their games to extend their first round matchups to the limit. Today we have a tripleheader of three fantastic Game 7’s in what should be a great day of hockey. It’s going to be a challenge trying to figure these games out.

We cashed our our Best Bet last night as Florida came from behind and knocked off the Capitals who played about as well as they could. Our Best Bet of the Day record is now 54-38 since the All-Star Break.

We went only 2-1 betting the MoneyLine missing the Calgary loss at Dallas. Our overall record is now 363-206 as the playoffs continue.

Even though we picked Calgary to win betting the MoneyLine we went with Dallas to pull off the upset in our Parlay. That turned out to be a good decision as we turned a $15 Bet in to a $78 Payout.

The run for the Stanley Cup continues today with 3 more games on the schedule. Let’s see what Vegas is thinking about the Los Angeles-Edmonton Game 7 and try and pick a winner. I might just flip a coin.

Los Angeles at Edmonton: The series is tied at 3-3: To me, this has been one of the most unpredictable series of all of them. Just when you think one team has the other by the throat, they get knocked around and let the other off the hook. Home ice has meant nothing as each team has won 2 games in the others’ building. Momentum hasn’t been a factor, as the team that seemingly has it, hasn’t been able to build on it. Los Angeles doesn’t have any players with stats that jump out at you. They have 7 skaters with at least 4 points and none with more than 6. Goaltender, Jonathan Quick has been average, but certainly not anything to brag about. But, the Kings have hung around and have a chance to knock off the heavily favored Oilers and I wouldn’t bet against them. Edmonton has the star players and they have done their part to push their team to Round 2. Connor McDavid has 3 goals and 9 assists, Evander Kane has found the back of the net 7 times, and Leon Draisaitl has added 5 more goals. The stars have obviously stood out; now the role players have got to step up and play better. In the games the Oilers have won, they have allowed the Kings to score only 4 times, so tight defense is the formula for their success. It is hard to imagine LA winning this Game 7 against a much more talented Edmonton team. However, Edmonton is going to have to prove they have some “Smash” to go with their “Flash”. This one should be fun. PAPA DUDES PICK: Bet the MoneyLine on Edmonton -220
