Free NHL Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 2/23/22

Picking hockey games has been a challenge since the teams have came back from the All-Star break. If you come out with a winning margin, you are doing well.

We missed the Best Bet of the Day for the 4th time in six tries as we are focusing on hockey. That leaves our record at 2-4.

We are continuing to struggle, as is everyone else, picking winners and we finished at 3-3. Our overall record is at 22-20.

Let’s see what we can come up with for the five scheduled games on today’s slate.

*PAPA DUDES BEST BET OF THE DAY* Buffalo at Montreal: This is a game between two teams that aren’t going anywhere. That is never a good game to bet on, but it is the only one tonight that has the value I am looking for. Montreal has actually won a couple of games of late, against St.Louis and Toronto, and they are better teams than the Sabres. I think they have a shot to win this one in their home building. Colorado at Detroit: The Avalanche are coming off a rare loss as they head into the Motor City. The Red Wings are slowly improving but aren’t anywhere close to Colorado in talent. PAPA DUDES PICK: Colorado

Edmonton at Tampa Bay: This game features two teams that seldom play each other. The Oilers are playing much better and had won 5 in a row before losing to Minnesota on Sunday. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay has been idle since Feb.15th. Sometimes the favored teams struggle after a lengthy layoff. The upset possibility is there for this one but I can’t go against the Lightning. Winnipeg at Dallas: These two teams currently are out of a playoff spot and both need to win. They are pretty similar in how they play and this will be a competitive game. PAPA DUDES PICK: Bet the MoneyLine on Dallas -160

Los Angeles at Arizona: The Kings are fighting for a playoff spot in the Pacific division and they need to pick up a win over lowly Arizona. However, the Coyotes knocked off Dallas in their last game and have split the last four games. Meanwhile, LA has won 4 out of 5. These two teams played on Saturday and the Kings won 5-3.
