Free NCAA College Basketball Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 3/13/22

We are down to the last 5 conference championship games and the unveiling of the bracket for the NCAA Tournament. Every sports’ fan’s mind will be invested in March Madness for the next three weeks. Today the bitching will start about who should have been included and which teams got in who weren’t deserving. My take has always been; if you are on the bubble, you ain’t deserving anyway.

We cashed on our Best Bet as Kansas easily covered the 2-point spread over Texas Tech and won the Big 12 Championship for the millionth time. That raised our Best Bet of the Day record to 51-32 since January 1st.

We wagered on 10 games and finished 6-4 betting the MoneyLine. Our record now stands at 644-142 (82%) for 2022.

There were 9 games involving Top-25 teams and we went 6-3 picking winners and 6-3 betting the spreads. Our record betting the spread on games involving Top-25 teams is 120-86.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

Memphis 21-9 vs. Houston 28-5 (-4): There are three reasons I am going with Houston. No.1: They will be out for revenge against a team that beat them twice in the regular season. Kelvin Sampson will not let them forget that. No.2: It’s hard to beat a great team 3 times. That’s a cliche but it is also true. No.3: They are one of my favorite teams. I like the physical hard-nosed play from the Cougars and they are playing for as high of a seed as they can get. This Houston team isn’t as good as the Final Four team of a year ago, but no one wants to play them. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Houston -4

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS PLUS THE IVY LEAGUE AND A-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS:

#9 Purdue 27-6 (-2) vs. #24 Iowa 25-9: Iowa has been the best team in the Big Ten the past three weeks and very few have noticed. They have one 9 out of their last 10 and have come from nowhere to play their way into a good seed. Meanwhile Purdue is considered by many to be the best team in the Big Ten. If Iowa is knocking down 3’s, they are as good as anybody. I’m going with Purdue, but I’m rooting for Iowa. PAPA DUDES PICK: Purdue -2

Texas A&M 23-11 vs. #9 Tennessee 25-7 (-6.5): This is an interesting game to analyze. On one hand, you have a Texas A&M team that has come out of nowhere and played fantastic basketball and have to be in the Big Dance. Are they satisfied with that and will they have come out ready to play at the same level today? Meanwhile, there is Tennessee, who might be playing as well as anyone in the country. They are coming off of a semifinal win over hated Kentucky and might move up as high as a #2 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament. But, there is the very real possibility that they left a lot on the floor from that hard-fought win last night. I like Tennessee to win, but I think it will be tight. Give me the Aggies and the points. PAPA DUDES PICK: Texas A&M +6.5

Richmond 22-12 vs. Davidson 27-5 (-3.5): Everyone is assuming Davidson is in the tournament no matter what happens in this game. But, this is a league that is getting very little respect nationally. I wouldn’t assume anything if I was Davidson. Richmond, came into this tournament in a rut and have knocked off VCU and Dayton, two teams who had legitimate claims to be in the Big Dance. There is one thing for sure; the Spiders have to win this game in order to punch a ticket to the tournament. I’m going to go with an upset and take the Spiders, even though Davidson is one of my favorites. PAPA DUDES PICK: Richmond +3.5

Yale 18-11 vs. Princeton 23-5 (-3.5): The Bulldogs knocked off Princeton in the regular season and they are a decent team. They went 11-3 in the conference and they could pull off a surprise in this game. But, doesn’t Princeton always win the Ivy League? PAPA DUDES PICK: Princeton -3.5
