Free NCAA College Basketball Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 3/1/22

It’s the first day of March and we are unofficially in March Madness. Several conferences are finishing up their regular seasons this week, while a handful have started their conference tournaments. Two weeks from now, we will picking the play-in games for the Big Dance. Aren’t you glad we are along for the ride?

Yesterday, the Mountain West beat me for the umpteenth time as San Diego State won a must game for them beating Wyoming 73-66. This lowered our Best Bet of the Day record to 43-28. I’ve learned my lesson; no more betting the MW.

We placed eight betson the MoneyLine and ended up going 7-1 with Wyoming being the lone loss. Our record now stands at 550-121 (82%) for 2022.

There were four games involving Top-25 teams and we went 4-0 picking winners and 4-0 betting the spread. Our record climbs to 82-64 betting the spread on Top-25 games. continued on Sunday.

There are 9 games tonight involving Top-25 teams, and a heavy schedule of others for Tuesday Night. All of the Top-25 games are as tough as can be. Let’s see what we can make some money on.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

#9 Providence 24-3 at #11 Villanova 21-7 (-9.5) : To me, Providence never gets the respect they deserve, and they usually prove the experts wrong. I don’t know why the spread is so high and I don’t think this game will be one-sided, unless the Friars run out of gas and have a bad game. Sometimes that can happen, especially if Villanova comes out firing. It is a big game for NCAA seeding purposes and I can’t discount that big spread. I may be dead wrong, but my money is on Providence. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Providence +9.5

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS:

#13 Tennessee 21-7 (-16) at Georgia 6-23: On paper, this should be an easy win for the Volunteers and it might be. They are playing extremely well and have won four straight games. However, this is one of those middle of the week games that can be overlooked by good teams. And, Tennessee might be looking ahead to Arkansas in Knoxville on Saturday. Georgia is awful, but they might bring out a good effort and beat the spread. PAPA DUDES PICK: Georgia +16

Mississippi 13-16 at #7 Kentucky 23-6 (-16.5): I hate these games with huge point spreads. No doubt Kentucky wins, but that is a lot of points to cover against a conference opponent. I like the fact the Wildcats are at home and Ole Miss is playing like Old Lady. PAPA DUDES PICK: Ole Miss +16.5

Nebraska 8-21 at #22 Ohio State 18-8 (-14.5): Nebraska is playing much better since the they announced that the head coach would be back for another season next year. Ohio State is another team that I can’t predict but I don’t think they should be ranked. They lost by 15 to a bad Maryland team on Sunday and I think they win this one but not sue they cover. . PAPA DUDES PICK: Nebraska +14.5

#4 Duke 25-4 (-14.5) at Pittsburgh 11-18: This is a game where you are playing the spread. Can Duke continue to play at a level good enough to cover a 14.5 point spread on the road. Pittsburgh is not very good and hasn’t shown much this year. I’m not sure they have enough fight left to hold down a Duke team that is on the rise. PAPA DUDES PICK: Duke -14.5

#6 Kansas 23-5 (-5.5) at TCU 18-9: This is another bruising battle in the tough Big 12. The Jayhawks are the better team and they are coming off a tough loss at Baylor. However, they haven’t lost two games in a row all year. The Horned Frogs are a hard team to play and they usually can control the tempo of a game no matter the opponent. They beat Texas Tech last Saturday and will be ready for this one. PAPA DUDES PICK: Kansas -5.5

#8 Purdue 24-5 (-3) at #10 Wisconsin 23-5: This is one of the best games of the night and features, arguably, the two top teams of the Big Ten. Wisconsin ventured into Purdue earlier this year and beat the Boilermakers on their home court. I’ve soured on Purdue just a bit after they lost to a struggling Michigan State team Saturday. Bet the Big Ten at your own risk; I’m staying away from this one. PAPA DUDES PICK: Wisconsin +3

Cincinnati 17-12 at #14 Houston 24-4 (-15): A lot of these Top-25 games involve large point spreads and this is another one. Cincinnati comes into Houston as heavy underdogs, and they have been playing poorly, losing six of their last eight games. That’s not a good situation coming into the lair of the Cougars. Houston has righted the ship after losing two games earlier and have reeled off four straight wins, including a thumping of 2nd place SMU on Saturday. Can they cover 15 points in their last regular season home game? I’m going with a shaky yes. PAPA DUDES PICK: Houston -15

#2 Arizona 25-3 (-4.5) at #16 USC 25-4: Wow, this is a toughie. Arizona was riding high going into Boulder and came away with an old-fashioned ass-kicking losing 79-63 to Colorado. Now, they have to have a quick rebound and head to LA to take on a very good USC team. The Trojans have won six in a row including a great 70-69 win at Oregon on Saturday. They usually eke out wins but they usually get the job done. I’m a little worried about them offensively but I’m giving them a chance. PAPA DUDES PICK: USC +4.5
