Free NCAA College Basketball Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 2/20/22

Survival Saturday is in the books and we came out ahead.

We cashed our Best Bet as Davidson easily handled St.Louis to cover a 2-point spread. Our Best Bet of the Day record is starting to get well again, after a losing streak. and now stands at 38-25.

We went 27-7 betting the MoneyLine. Our record now stands at 468-109 (81%) for 2022.

There were 16 games involving Top-25 teams, and 8 of those games involved double digit spreads. stretching from 11.5 to 21.5. Those are hard to gauge. We went 12-4 picking winners, but only 7-9 betting the spread. Our record is now 58-42 betting the spread in Top-25 games.

And finally, if Bruce Pearl knew how to coach, we would have hit a decent-paying parlay for the second day in a row. Oh well, water under the bridge now.

The Sunday slate is very good today, featuring 5 games involving Top-25 teams, and some other interesting games as well. Let’s end the week on a good note.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

Washington State 14-11 at USC 22-4 (-5.5): . I think Vegas is showing USC a lack of respect and am surprised this spread is so small. While, I don’t this the Trojans are great, they are 22-4 and there ain’t too many teams that can say that. Washington State is pesky, but they are on a downward trend, and have lost four in a row, including a 20-point beatdown at UCLA on Thursday. C’mon USC prove me right! PAPA DUDES BEST BET: USC -5.5

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS:

#8 Providence 21-3 (-3.5) at Butler 13-14: I hate these Big East games because they are all the same. I should just write the same thing and insert different teams accordingly because I say the same thing everytime. The Friars are a tough, physical, clutch team that have managed to win a lot of close games. But they don’t overwhelm anyone either. They almost won at Villanova in their last contest, but couldn’t quite get there. Meanwhile, Butler is coming off an uncharacteristic blowout at St.John’s. They are a hard team to figure, but they are usually right there at the end, the majority of the time. This is a critical game for Providence and I’m going to stick with them, but I’m not too confident. PAPA DUDES PICK: Providence -3.5

#14 Houston 21-4 (-7) at Wichita State 13-10:: The Cougars come into Wichita having lost two out of three. However, they did play well in their last game beating UCF by 18 points. This is a tough building to play in, and the Shockers have raucous crowds, when good teams come to their home court. This is a tricky game for Houston and this line is tough to gauge. The Cougars are the better team, if they can get back to their earlier form. Something tells me that if they win, they will cover by hitting free throws late. But, I wouldn’t touch this one. PAPA DUDES PICK: Houston -7

Michigan 14-10 at #15 Wisconsin 20-5 (-2.5): I really believe Michigan has more talent than Wisconsin, and that’s what makes this game so difficult to judge. Just when you think the Wolverines are done, they step up and play well like they did in Iowa City, beating the Hawkeyes earlier this week. So, they are extremely dangerous for any team that goes up against them. Wisconsin has been 5-3 in their last 8 games, and is coming off a big road win at Indiana. I have to go with the steady hand, especially at home. PAPA DUDES PICK: Wisconsin -2.5

Rutgers 16-9 at #5 Purdue 23-4 (-12.5): I’m pretty surprised the spread is this large, considering Rutgers comes into East Lafayette having won 4 straight, all against ranked Big Ten opponents. There are 5 ranked teams from the Big Ten and the Scarlet Knights have beat them all on this run. Today they get a chance to beat the 5th one. So, why the 12.5 spread? Purdue is the best team in the Big Ten on paper, but they have lost four games within the conference, and are in a logjam at the top of the conference standings. I think they win this game but I don’t think they cover, unless Rutgers runs out of gas and breaks down. PAPA DUDES PICK: Rutgers +12.5
