Free NCAA College Basketball Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 2/19/22

It finally happened last night. We had a perfect night of betting college basketball. Yes, I know there weren’t that many games to bet on but we cashed on everything we put a wager on we will take that any time anywhere.

We cashed two Best Bets as Princeton and VCU both won, and easily covered the spread. Our Best Bet of the Day record is starting to get well again, after a losing streak. and now stands at 37-25.

We went 5-0 betting the MoneyLine. Our record now stands at 441-102 (81%) for 2022.

There were no games involving Top-25 teams so our record remains 51-33 betting the spread in Top-25 games.

And, finally our 3-team parlay involving Princeton, Ohio, and VCU also cashed bringing us a payout of $70 on a $15 bet.

It’s Saturday and there are a ton of games to get into today. Let’s ride the momentum from last night and see what we can do on Survival Saturday. w

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

St.Louis 18-8 at Davidson 21-4 (-2): This should be a good one between two good A-10 teams. The Billikens were riding high until stumbling and losing back-to-back games against St.Bonaventure. They need to win this one to have any chance at an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament. Meanwhile, Davidson has been winning, but not convincingly. They are not playing at the high level they were earlier. This is truly a game that could go either way but I am sticking with the Wildcats to cover a small spread at home. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Davidson -2

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS:

TCU 16-7 at #7 Baylor 21-5 (-11.5): Here is another game where there is minimal doubt in my mind on who will win but will they cover? The Bears are the superior team and TCU is beginning to fade down the stretch after playing pretty well 2 weeks ago. I just don’t see them having enough to win this game but they could make it interesting. I’m thinking it will be close but Baylor will pull away down the stretch and cover. PAPA DUDES PICK: Baylor -11.5

#11 Texas Tech 20-6 at #20 Texas (-3.5): This is a game that has become a rivalry since Chris Beard left Tech for the Longhorn head coaching job. The Raiders bombed the Longhorns earlier this year in Lubbock and Texas will be out for revenge. Both teams are solid and there’s not much to choose from. This will be a fun one to watch. PAPA DUDES PICK: Texas -3.5

#6 Kansas 21-4 (-4.5) at West Virginia 14-11: I’m trying to decide if this is line is too high for Kansas. The Mountaineers are decent at home, but it’s a game that Kansas should win fairly easy. I can’t bet against the Jayhawks in this one. PAPA DUDES PICK: Kansas -4.5

Florida State 14-11 at #9 Duke 22-4 (-15): The Seminoles were riding high with a 13-5 record a few weeks ago and looked like an NCAA tournament team. Then they promptly lost 6 straight before defeating a poor Clemson team by 1 point earlier this week. Duke is playing so-so but are struggling to blow teams out. I think they win pretty easily but that’s a difficult line to swallow. PAPA DUDES PICK: Florida State +15

Xavier 17-8 at #24 UConn 18-7 (-7): I’ve gone round and round on this one. These Big East games are all the same as the upper level teams are all similar. Xavier is not as good as usual and have been a bit inconsistent and I can’t take them to win. UConn is better and more bettable but I don’t think they cover. PAPA DUDES PICK: Xavier +7

Georgetown 6-19 at #10 Villanova 20-6 (-20): Not much to say about this one. Georgetown is awful and playing out the season. If Villanova is ready, they should have a romp. Hate the spread but have to take it. PAPA DUDES PICK: Villanova -20

#12 Illinois 18-7 (-2) at Michigan State 18-7: This Big-10 matchup involves two teams that are both trending downward. I can’t get a read on either one of them and must admit I miss them everytime. So I’m not betting this, but if forced to pick, I’ll go with home court advantage. PAPA DUDES PICK: Michigan State -2

Iowa 17-8 at #18 Ohio State 16-6 (-5): The Hawkeyes come into this one after a bad loss in their last outing against Penn State. They need a win to solidify their standing for a tournament bid. Ohio State is at home where they have been pretty good. The spread is very reasonable. PAPA DUDES PICK: Ohio State -5

Air Force 10-14 at #22 Wyoming 21-4 (-17): Wyoming finally made it into the Top-25 and promptly lost at New Mexico. They take on an Air Force team that is really struggling and is on a 6-game losing streak. I look for the Cowboys to be angry about the way they played earlier this week and play much better today. PAPA DUDES PICK: Wyoming -17

#21 Murray State 25-2 (-16) at UT Martin 8-19: The Blue Racers might be the best mid-major in the nation but this game scares me a little. They have been winning on the road, but haven’t covered the spread in recent outings. I could see a letdown in this one and they could be looking ahead to a showdown with Belmont next week. I think they will win but might have a seat-squirmer. PAPA DUDES PICK: UT Martin +16

Oregon 17-9 at #3 Arizona 23-2 (-13): Oregon is coming off an embarrassing performance at Arizona State on Thursday and are looking to bounce back. However, they are facing a very good Arizona team that is rolling along. The question is will they cover the spread. PAPA DUDES PICK: Arizona -13

Washington 13-11 at #13 UCLA 18-5 (-17): This game is like so many on the schedule for Top-25 teams. Not much doubt who will win; the question is will they cover? The Bruins are a solid bunch that aren’t going to lose to Washington at home. But, sometimes they struggle scoring especially if they have a letdown. Washington isn’t very good and could very well not show up with much in the tank. However, that is a lot of points to cover. I won’t bet this one because a case can be made either way. PAPA DUDES PICK: Washington +17

#25 Alabama 17-9 at #4 Kentucky 21-5 (-6.5): This is a good game in the SEC. Alabama has won three in a row and they are playing very well after a tough stretch earlier. The Wildcats are coming off a poor effort losing to Tennessee earlier this week. Can they bounce back and cover a reasonable spread? I’m going with the Wildcats at home. PAPA DUDES PICK: Kentucky -6.5

#2 Auburn 24-2 (-3) at Florida 16-10: This is a game which could be a close one. The Gators are tough at home and Auburn has been struggling on the road. But, Auburn has a ton of talent and are more than capable of covering if they play well. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Auburn -3

#16 Tennessee 19-6 at #23 Arkansas 20-6 (-1.5): I look at this one as true toss-up game. I can make a firm case for either team. The Volunteers have won 5 in a row including an impressive thumping of #4 Kentucky earlier this week. Arkansas went to Columbia and got back on track with a win over lowly Missouri and have won 10 out of their last 11 as they have risen to the top tier of a tough SEC. I’m simply going with the home team but I think Tennessee could win very easily. PAPA DUDES PICK: Arkansas -1.5

Santa Clara 18-9 at #1 Gonzaga 22-2 (-21.5): Santa Clara comes into Spokane on a good stretch. They aren’t a bad team and they might be able to hang with the Zags for awhile. The question becomes will Gonzaga cover which seems to be the case in every game they play. They beat the Broncos by 32 points earlier in Santa Clara. I have to take Gonzaga. PAPA DUDES PICK: Gonzaga -21.5
