Free NCAA Basketball Best Bets and Money Line Selections For 1/30/22

Saturday are always scary days for bettors of College Basketball, with so many games on the docket, and the risk of upsets messing up your budget. We were able to survive in a day that could have been better.

My Best Bet was Florida State to cover 1.5 at home against 10-10 Virginia Tech. Didn’t happen as the Hokies kicked the Seminoles around like a rag doll. That is the 2nd time they have beat me. Won’t happen again, they go on the can’t be trusted list. That dropped my Best Bet of the Day record to 23-14 for the season.

We bet 19 games games on the Money Line and we went 15-4 with Princeton and Texas A&M surprising me, losing at home to teams I thought they would beat rather easily. Even with those disappointments, our record is still a very good 226-50 (82%) as we head into Sunday.

It is a typical small Sunday slate of games. However, there is always money to be made if we dig deep enough and find some winners. Let’s get after it.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

Marquette 15-6 at Providence 17-2 (-1.5): This is basically a pick-em game between these two Big East rivals. I usually stay away from games like this as my Best Bet but I like the spread and I like the fact that Providence is at home. There is another factor that I’m playing also. Marquette has been on an impressive roll, winning 7 straight games. Four of those wins are against Top-25 teams. The law of averages says that they are due to lose after a run like that. Also, the Friars are looking for revenge, after the Golden Eagles blasted them 88-56 earlier in the season.

PAPA DUDES PICK: Providence -1.5

OTHER GAME TO CONSIDER:

Ohio State 13-4 at Purdue 17-3 (-9.5): I think Purdue gets the win here but 9.5 is a lot of points to give against a good Buckeyes’ team. Take the Buckeyes +9.5
