Free NBA Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for the Play-In Games 4/13/22

Last night the Brooklyn Nets and the Minnesota Timberwolves cashed their tickets into the first round of the playoffs. The Nets will move on as the #7 seed and play Boston in the Eastern Conference and the T-Wolves will take on #2 Memphis in the West.

We cashed our Best Bet as the Nets advanced. That improved our Best Bet of the Day record to 71-33 in 2022.

We went 1-1 betting the MoneyLine as we had the Clippers to win and that our overall record is 432-217.

There are two Play-In games scheduled for tonight. Both pit the 9th and 10th seeds going against each other, with the winners moving on to take on either Cleveland or the Clippers tomorrow night to decide the 8th seed in the first round. The losers of tonight’s game are eliminated. Let’s take a look at tonight’s games.

*PAPA DUDES BEST BET* #10 Charlotte 43-39 at #9 Atlanta 43-39 (-5): These are two pretty good teams going at it with the winner moving on to Cleveland to play tomorrow night. The loser will be eliminated. They both are high-scoring teams, who are deficient defensively, which is always a concern in picking who will win. The Hornets finished the season on a 13-7 run and won their last 3 regular season games. They will be a tough out tonight. The Hawks also finished the season on a 13-7 run, so they are in good form. They have a superstar in Trae Young and he will do his part. The key is, will his teammates step up and give him enough help? I like Atlanta to win but I’m struggling with the spread. *PAPA DUDES BEST B: #10 San Antonio 34-48 at #9 New Orleans 36-46 (-5.5): Obviously, these two teams are not very good and are not worthy of being in the playoffs. But, here they are, and this will be a good game. The winner will move on to Los Angeles to play the Clippers tomorrow night. The loser will be out. The Spurs finished the regular season losing their last three games, but prior to that, they had gone on a 10-7 run to grab the final playoff spot. They can score and are well-coached and they will bring their best into this game. Meanwhile, the Pelicans went 3-17 to start the season, and played very well after that terrible start. They have to be given credit for that. I like the Pelicans and I think the Spurs are respected a little too much by Vegas. I’m going with New Orleans to cover. PAPA DUDES PICK: Pelicans -5.5
