  • #1- GONZAGA 24-3: I would like to drop them but everyone close to them lost too.. THIS WEEK: WCC Tournament in Las Vegas
  • #2- ARIZONA 25-3: Ditto for the Wildcats. THIS WEEK: at USC, Stanford, California
  • #3- DUKE 25-4: I’m not sure they should be third, but they won two games on the road. THIS WEEK: at Pittsburgh, North Carolina
  • #4- PURDUE 24-5: Shouldn’t be this high. THIS WEEK: at Wisconsin, Indiana
  • #5- AUBURN 25-4: I’m not sure this talented team can make it very far. THIS WEEK: at Mississippi State, South Carolina
  • #6- PROVIDENCE 24-3: The AP has them at #12. Ridiculous. THIS WEEK: at Villanova, at Arkansas
  • #7- BAYLOR 24-5: They has as good a week as anyone.THIS WEEK: at Texas, Iowa State
  • #8- ARKANSAS 23-6: Still only 15th in the AP poll. Double ridiculous. THIS WEEK: LSU, at Tennessee
  • #9- KENTUCKY 23-6: They aren’t playing as well as they were. THIS WEEK: Ole Miss, at Florida
  • #10-KANSAS 23-5: I probably have them too low. THIS WEEK: at TCU, TCU, Texas
  • #11-WISCONSIN 23-5: Two quality wins on the road last week. THIS WEEK: Purdue, Nebraska
  • #12-HOUSTON 24-4: Looks like the Cougars are back on track. THIS WEEK: Cincinnati, Temple, at Memphis
  • #13-USC 25-4: Big win at Oregon has them moving up. THIS WEEK: Arizona, at UCLA
  • #14- TEXAS TECH 22-7: Bad loss to TCU really hurts. THIS WEEK: Kansas State, at Oklahoma State
  • #15- TENNESSEE 21-7: Big win over Auburn moves the Vols up. THIS WEEK: at Georgia, Arkansas
  • #16- VILLANOVA 21-7: Still a very dangerous team. THIS WEEK: Providence, at Butler
  • #17- UCONN 21-7: The Huskies pulled off a big win over Nova. THIS WEEK: at Creighton, DePaul
  • #18- MURRAY STATE 28-2: Doubt if they are this good but 28-2 can’t be overlooked. THIS WEEK: OVC Tournament at Evansville, IN.
    #19- UCLA 21-6: I’m not sure how good they are. THIS WEEK: at USC, Auburn
  • #20- ILLINOIS 20-8: Nice bounce back win over Michigan. THIS WEEK: Penn State, Iowa
  • #21- TEXAS 21-8: Longhorns beat two of the lesser teams in the Big-12. THIS WEEK: Baylor, at Kansas
  • #22- ST.MARY’S 24-6: The Gaels beat Gonzaga. Enough said. THIS WEEK: WCC Tournament in Las Vegas
  • #23- IOWA 20-8: The Hawkeyes are making a late season run. THIS WEEK: Northwestern, at Illinois
  • #24- DAVIDSON 24-4: Two more wins for the Wildcats. Not sure they belong. THIS WEEK: George Mason, Fordham
  • #25- SOUTH DAKOTA STATE 27-4: Can’t discount a 27 win team. THIS WEEK: Summit Conference Tournament in Sioux Falls, SD
  • NEXT IN LINE TO GET IN: Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Marquette, Michigan State, Ohio State, North Texas, VCU, Iowa State
  • TOP 5 WINNERS OF THE WEEK:
  • #1 ARKANSAS: The Hogs knocked off Florida in Gainesville and Kentucky at home to lay claim as the best team in the SEC.
  • #2 PROVIDENCE: The Friars won two more games and their win over Xavier was one of the best games of the season.
  • #3 BAYLOR: The Bears got two big wins including one over Kansas.
  • #4 TENNESSEE: The Vols have righted the ship.
  • #5 SETON HALL: The Pirates have won 3 in a row and are close to nailing down a tournament bid.
  • TOP 5 LOSERS OF THE WEEK:
  • #1 RUTGERS: They couldn’t sustain their great run.
  • #2 VIRGINIA: The Cavaliers have played their way out of the tournament.
  • #3 AUBURN AND BRUCE PEARL: No way they should be losing the games that they do.
  • #4 XAVIER: It pains me to put them on this list after their valiant effort against Providence, but their home loss to Seton Hall was a killer.
  • #5 OHIO STATE: Just when they got a big win at Illinois to get people believing, they turn around at lose at lowly Maryland by 15.
