NCAAF Dudes Who Bet Sports Final Regular Season Top-25 December 5, 2021 The Enquirer NCAAF Dudes Who Bet Sports Final Regular Season Top-25 December 5, 2021 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article We don’t mind telling you, it is with a lot of sadness, that this is the final regular season Top-25 poll. We love everything about college football and it is always disappointing when the regular season comes to a close. But, it isn’t over yet with all the bowl games coming towards the end of the month, and the College Football Playoffs beginning on New Years’ Eve and ending in early January. Yesterday’s conference championships saw plenty of upsets, with of course the biggest one being the demolition of previously unbeaten and unbeatable (or so we thought), Georgia. Very few people saw Alabama scoring 41 points on the Bulldogs. Kudos go out to Cincinnati and Michigan, who withstood tremendous pressure (especially the Bearcats), and played their way into the Final Four. As we write this the official news hasn’t been announced, as to who is in the playoffs for sure. We will update that when it breaks, along, with a complete listing of the bowl games. Let’s check out our rankings to close out the regular season. NO.1 CINCINNATI 13-0: I’m sure we are the only poll that will put the Bearcats at No.1. But don’t they deserve it. THEY ARE THE ONLY TEAM TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE REGULAR SEASON UNDEFEATED.NO.2 MICHIGAN 12-1: The Wolverines closed out a storybook season with a 42-3 thumping of outmanned Iowa. So much for an Ohio State hangover.NO.3 ALABAMA 12-1: Go ahead and put Alabama No.1 if you want too. If not for an Auburn running back mistakenly going out of bounds, and stopping the clock, they would have lost to a 6-5 Auburn team, and this wouldn’t be an issue. NO.4 GEORGIA 12-1: Well they weren’t the greatest college football defense in history were they? And they weren’t unbeatable either. Can they regroup and make a run in the playoffs? NO.5. NOTRE DAME 11-1: The Irish would probably be in the playoffs if Alabama had lost. NO.6 OHIO STATE 10-2: Even, though the Buckeyes won 10 games, the season was a disappointment. NO.7 OLE MISS 10-2: A great year for the Rebels and they secured Lane Kiffin by extending his contract.NO.8 BAYLOR 11-2: The Bears wrapped up a tremendous season with a Big-12 Championship. And none of the big boys have poached their coach. NO.9 OKLAHOMA STATE 11-2: When the Cowboys lost the Big-12 title game, it appeared that they had blown a playoff spot. As it turned out, Alabama beat Georgia, and that would have denied them a berth no matter what. But it still was their usual choke job.NO.10 MICHIGAN STATE 10-2: Just waiting to see what bowl game there will be for the Spartans after a great season.NO.11 UTAH 10-3: The Utes beat Oregon like a drum twice,in the final three weeks of the season proving two things; they are really good and the Ducks were a fraud. NO.12 OKLAHOMA 10-2: The Sooners were in disarray the last month of the season with all the coaching problems. Still waiting on who the next head coach will be.NO.13 PITTSBURGH 11-2: Maybe the biggest surprise team of the year. They lost to lowly Bowling Green and average Miami, or they might be making a claim for the playoffs. Still an ACC Championship is pretty impressive.NO.14 BYU 10-2: Victory over USC caps off a great regular season for this bunch.NO.15 HOUSTON 11-2: The Cougars played well against Cincinnati and had a great season. NO.16 LOUISIANA 12-1: The Ragin’ Cajuns will take a 12 game winning streak and the Sun Belt Championship into their bowl game. This is a good team.NO.17 IOWA 10-3: The Hawkeyes deserve a lot of credit for winning 10 games with questionable talentNO.18 OREGON 10-3: An early season win over Ohio State, kept this team overrated, until Utah exposed them twice,in the final three weeks. NO.19 WAKE FOREST 10-3: Despite a loss in the ACC title game, the Demon Deacons had a great season.NO.20 UTSA 12-1: Great bounce back win for the Roadrunners as they win the C-USA Championship.NO.21 KENTUCKY 9-3: Another great coaching job by Mark Stoops in Lexington.NO.22 CLEMSON 9-3: The Tigers showed their pride by winning their final five games and finishing a good season. NO.23 ARKANSAS 8-4: The Razorbacks are the 4th best team in the SEC. Great turnaround season. NO.24 NC STATE 9-3: Another solid season for the Wolfpack.NO.25 UTAH STATE 10-3: Did anyone have the Aggies in their preseason Top-25? They crushed San Diego State for the Mountain West title. Honorable Mention: Coastal Carolina 10-2, San Diego State 11-2, Appalachian State 10-3, Fresno State 9-3, Air Force 9-3, Army 8-3, UCLA 8-4, Minnesota 8-4, Texas A&M 8-4,Dropping Out of the Poll: San Diego State
