Dudes Who Bet Sports Bottom Ten 9/12/2021

Not a whole lot of changes for this illustrious groups of lightweights as most things went true to form with our teams continuing their losing ways. There were two exception as the Nebraska Cornhuskers won their 2nd game and their first against a Division-1 school and played their way out of the Bottom Ten. Then there is Vanderbilt who went on the road and broke their 11-game losing streak by beating Colorado State 24-21. Let’s see who will take their place and if their was any movement with the rest.

NO.10: WASHINGTON The Huskies traveled to Ann Arbor and gave a decent account of themselves before losing 31-10 to Michigan. This will allow them to move down one spot and with a victory next week they might play their way out of here. Next Loss: Arkansas State

NO.9: UNLV The Runnin’ Rebels actually led in this game against Arizona State 10-7, and only trailed 14-10 at half before losing 37-10. That performance allows them to move down a spot. Next Loss: Iowa State

NO.8 NEW MEXICO STATE The Aggies gave a good account of themselves for the 2nd week in a row, narrowly losing to New Mexico 34-25. They are continuing to move down as they drop 2 more spots this week. Next Loss: South Carolina State

NO.7 BOWLING GREEN For a while it looked like the Falcons were going to beat South Alabama but they rallied the troops together and lost cementing another week in purgatory. However, the near miss allowed them to stay where they were last week. Next Loss: Murray State

NO.6 COLORADO STATE The Rams make their Bottom-10 debut after losing to previously No. 4 Vanderbilt at home 24-21. This is following at opening week defeat to a FCS school. I like their chances of becoming a permanent fixture in this poll. Next Loss: at Toledo

NO.5 LOUISIANA MONROE The Warhawks were lucky this week and didn’t play. Next Loss: Jackson State

NO.4 OHIO It takes a lot to debut at No.4 but the Bobcats pulled it off by losing to FCS school, Duquesne. It was the first victory over a Division-1 school in the Dukes’ history. That kind of crowning moment will land you in the Bottom-10. Next Loss: at Louisiana

NO.3 UMASS The Minutemen had a decent effort against Boston College and beat the spread which caused a celebration in the locker room after the game. Next Loss: Eastern Michigan

NO.2 AKRON The Zips were actually ahead in this game 17-7 against Temple before they realized they were jeopardizing their dream of finishing No.1 in the Bottom-10. Next Loss: Bryant (Who is that?)

NO.1 UCONN The Huskies become the first team to hold onto the top spot for two weeks in a row in 2021. They sent a message to all the other Bottom-Ten wannabes that they mean business by losing to Purdue 49-0. Next Loss: at Army

Dropped out: Nebraska and Vanderbilt

Dishonorable Mention: Navy, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Arizona
