2021 Chicago Bears: Decent Team in a Good Division

Chicago has some talent and have taken a big chance at the quarterback position by bringing in veteran Andy Dalton as a stop-gap until No. 1 draft pick Justin Fields takes over the reins. They have revamped the coaching staff and there are some who believe that Coach Matt Nagy might be in some trouble if they don’t make the playoffs.

Dalton had a good season in Dallas last year and will do a decent job in Chicago. He had his career-best completion percentage and if he has some weapons he can be effective. Running back, David Montgomery had a solid 2020 gaining 1070 yards. The receiver group has Allen Robinson, (102 catches for 1250 yards) and Darnell Mooney (61 catches for 631 yards) as downfield threats. There is also reliable red zone guy, Jimmy Graham who has 8 touchdowns. The Bears addressed the offensive line problems by drafting Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom.

On defense, Akeem Hicks has ruled the defensive front since 2016 and Eddie Goldman will return after opting out last season. The linebacker position is strong as Roquan Smith became an all-around force last year. He will be joined by Danny Trevathan and Khalil Mack. The secondary is unsettled at cornerback but has Eddie Jackson and Tashaun Gipson at safety.

Schedule:

Must Wins: Cincinnati, Detroit, Arizona, NY Giants, at Detroit

Toss-Up games: Green Bay, San Francisco, Baltimore, Minnesota, at Las Vegas, at Minnesota

Probable Losses: at LA Rams, at Cleveland, at Tampa Bay, at Pittsburgh, at Green Bay, at Seattle

Summary in Two Sentences: The Bears have completely changed the quarterback room for 2021 and it will be interesting to see how it works out. They have good players in several spots and they could be better than I think.

Predicted Finish: 3rd Place in the NFC North
