2021 Buffalo Bills: Trying to Take the Next Step

The Bills won their first division title since 1995 and were led by Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. In the offseason everyone in the division got better and it will be a tough road to defend their crown. But, that being said, they have the pieces and the talent to continue to put their stamp, not only on the East, but the entire AFL as well.

The offense is one of the best in the NFL. It starts with the emergence of Josh Allen,(4544 passing yards for 37 touchdowns) as a premier quarterback. He is young and should only get better. The running game was only average with Devin Singletary and Zack Moss combining for 1168 yards and only six touchdowns. At receiver, Stefon Diggs was fantastic with 127 catches netting 1535 yards and 8 touchdowns. Cole Beasley chipped in with 82 catches for 967 yards as well. There is adequate depth as well. The offensive line got a boost when potential free agents, Daryl Williams and Jon Feliciano re-signed with Buffalo.

The defensive line was a disappointment in 2020 so they drafted Greg Rousseau and Carlos Basham and added Efe Obada in free agency. Linebacker, Matt Milano returned and he is valuable against the run and the pass. He will be joined with Tremaine Edmunds. Tre’Davious White is one of the best cover corners in the league and the Bills gave him a lucrative new contract. They also gave safeties, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer contract extensions.

Schedule:

Must Wins: Washington, Houston, Miami, Indianapolis, New England, Carolina, Atlanta, NY Jets, at Jacksonville, at NY Jets

Toss-Up Games: Pittsburgh, at Miami, at Tennessee, at New Orleans, at New England

Probable Losses: at Kansas City, at Tampa Bay

Summary in Two Sentences: This is a team that is built for the long haul barring injuries. There is no reason why they won’t make the playoffs and it will be a very disappointing season if they don’t make a run at the title.

Predicted Finish: 1st Place in the AFC East *Playoff Team*
