Sconsin, the even-money second choice, and jockey Tyler Gaffalione sat back as Rising Seas and the 3/5 favorite Frank’s Rockette dueled through a quick opening pace.

With the front-runners tiring in the stretch, Sconsin easily picked them off near the 1/8 pole before drawing off to win the 6-furlong fast dirt sprint by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:08.80.

“Everything set up like we thought it would,” Gaffalione said. “The speed went on and set quick fractions. We were able to sit back and bide our time. When I put her out at the top of the lane, she finished the job.”

Rising Seas held off Frank’s Rockette for second by a 1/2-length. Headland and Tipsy Gal completed the order of finish. Bayerness was scratched.

The Greg Foley-trained Sconsin’s win was her first since last September’s Eight Belles Stakes (G2) over the same course. The 4-year-old Include filly’s record improved to 12-4-3-1 with $546,512 earned.

“She loves Churchill (5-3-1-0) and that’s why I wanted to run her here tonight,” Foley said. “Lloyd Madison Farms, a group of three guys from Madison, Wisconsin, they’re my main guys, my big owners. They’ve been with me a long time and I’m tickled to death to have a filly like this. We bred and raised this filly. I raced her mama (Sconnie).”

Sconsin returned $4.20 to win, $3.20 to place, and $2.10 to show. Rising Seas brought back $6.80 to place and $2.60 to show. Frank’s Rockette paid $2.10 to show.
