Rocketry, By Your Side Among Tuesday Trainees at Palm Meadows

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Graded stakes winners Rocketry and By Your Side were among those to appear on the Tuesday worktab at Palm Meadows Training Center.

Rocketry covered 6 furlongs over the dirt track in 1:15.00, an easy-going breeze meant to reinstill the endurance champion’s stamina and prepare him for a 2020 debut. The Jimmy Jerkens trainee made his first 14 starts on turf before successfully transitioning to dirt, winning the 1 5/8-mile Temperence Hill Invitational and the 1 3/4-mile Marathon Stakes (G2).

Rocketry failed to find the winner’s circle in six starts last year, all on dirt, though he twice finished second behind fellow marathon specialist Marconi. The 6-year-old son of Hard Spun has an overall record of 22-5-5-3 with $643,310 earned for owner Centennial Farms.

By Your Side fired a best-of-eight 4-furlong time in :48.45 as he slowly builds toward a 2020 debut. He first appeared on the worktab on April 8 after being absent since early October, when his juvenile season ended following a pair of less-than-stellar efforts.

By Your Side broke his maiden on debut at Churchill Downs, nipping the eventual Hopeful Stakes (G1) champion Basin by a nose. The Eddie Kenneally trainee parlayed that into effort another victory next time out, taking the Sanford Stakes (G3) and becoming the first black-type winner for his sire, Constitution.

Purchased for $240,000 as a yearling, By Your Side carries an overall record of 4-2-0-0 with $166,348 earned.
