Rock Your World Fires Bullet for Belmont

ARCADIA, CARunhappy Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Rock Your World worked 5 furlongs last Friday in a bullet 58.40, fastest of 32 drills at the distance and quicker by almost 3 seconds than the average time of 1:01.28.

“It was a good work,” said John Sadler, who trains the son of Candy Ride pointing to the Belmont Stakes (G1) June 4 at Belmont Park. “He shipped to New York Saturday.”

Rock Your World won his first 2 races on turf, then made his main track debut in the Santa Anita Derby April 3, leading throughout the mile and 1/8 classic and earning a spot in the Kentucky Derby on May 1.

Unfortunately, he was sandwiched at the start of the Run for Roses, never got untracked, and finished 17th of 19.

“We hope to right the ship in the Belmont,” Sadler said.
