She ran awfully strong in breaking her maiden, winning by an eye-popping 21 lengths. How does it get much better at five and one half furlongs? -Dayatthespa was just too good for the field in the feature on Friday. Give credit to Chad Brown for spotting this filly in spots she can win. With that being said, how high do they want to try her? Will they consider taking on Grade 1 or 2 company again? -Emcee was awesome in winning the Forego, but a shout out to Hamazing Destiny is also in order. The horse has banged heads against the divisions best for three years now, and continues to show up and run his race. It wasn’t enough again last Saturday, but he ran his heart out to get second. -Was there any worse kept secret than Dominus last Saturday? First time on turf and first time going two turns, yet he’s bet heavily and wins easily. -Mucho Macho Man ran great, but To Honor and Serve ran his eye balls out. Thought he had no chance, certainly made me look dumb. I don’t think either have a shot at the Classic though. -Caixa Electronica just isn’t a Saratoga Stakes horse. -Todd Pletcher is the king, but Chad Brown is closing in. Brown has a better winning percentage, and is getting better and better horses every year. -So many huge fillies with maiden wins, yet So Many Ways quietly has stolen the show at Saratoga as a two-year old filly this year. -Am I the only one that can’t pick Del Mar winners? I’m blaming it on the surface. -Remington Park has produced some very high prices in the first couple of weeks. Two year olds and state bred races are probably the biggest reasons why. -Speaking of Remington, $2 to win on any Kelly Von Hemel horse wouldn’t be a bad idea at this point. Three horses have won at double-digit prices at the meet. -Whether you are beaten a nose or 10 lengths, a uncashed ticket remains the same…non-profitable and non-cashable! -Executiveprivilege is so classy! Can she cap off a great season with a Breeders Cup win? Yes, of course she can!
