Breaking like a rocket from the far outside post 11 as the 3/5 favorite, Pure Sensation’s stride carried him past each of his foes and allowed him to cleanly cross over to the rail heading into the far turn. Hollywood Talent made a bid to his outside midway through the turn, but Pure Sensation easily dispatched of him at the top of the stretch.

Kicking away confidently under only mild urging, Pure Sensation crossed much the best in a final time of :57.80. The Christophe Clement trainee was 3 lengths clear at the wire in the 5-furlong sprint over the firm turf course.

Dubini rallied wide in the stretch to take second by 1 1/4 lengths over a weakening Hollywood Talent, who just barely held onto third over Fielder by a neck. Justaholic was fifth, Smokin Nitro sixth, with Nice TuneVision Perfect, Texas Wedge, Rocket Heat, and Amblin Man completing the order of finish. Cove Blue was scratched.
