Point Me By Runs Right By In Bruce D.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Lightly-raced Point Me By ran right by his rivals in the stretch to capture Saturday’s $300,000 Bruce D. Stakes (G1), held for the final time at Arlington Park.

Jockey Luis Saez kept Point Me By in a comfortable mid-pack stalking position before pouncing at the top of the stretch and drawing away to win the good turf mile route by 2 3/4 lengths.

Making just his third career start, the Eddie Kenneally-trained 8/5 favorite stopped the clock in 1:37.70.

The 9/5 second choice Tango Tango Tango stalked and led briefly but faltered late and saved second by a nose over Ginsburned.

King of Miami, pacesetter Like a Saltshaker, Therideofalifetime, Mr. Universe, New Year Surprise, and Shadizaar completed the order of finish in the field of 3-year-olds.

Point Me By’s win was the second of his career following a debut score in a 5 1/2-furlong turf sprint at Churchill Downs on June 20 and increased his earnings to $238,268. Purchased for $30,000 as a yearling, the Point of Entry colt was a rallying fourth last out in a 1-mile inner turf route at Saratoga against older first-level allowance rivals.

Point Me By returned $5.40 to win, $2.80 to place, and $2.40 to show. Tango Tango Tango brought back $3 to place and $2.40 to show. Ginsburned paid $3.80 to show.
