Race Recaps Pink Lloyd Caps Perfect Season With G2 Kennedy Road November 25, 2017 Race Recaps Pink Lloyd Caps Perfect Season With G2 Kennedy Road November 25, 2017 By: Curtis "Magic" Kalleward twitteremail Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article TORONTO, ON – Entourage Stable’s Pink Lloyd tacked an exclamation point onto the end of a perfect season, taking Saturday’s Grade 2, $175,000 Kennedy Road Stakes at Woodbine. Bumped at the start after exiting post 4 under Eurico Da Silva, Pink Lloyd tracked behind early leaders Yorkton and Sweet Grass Creek through fractions of :22.37 and :44.65. Advancing well through the turn, Pink Lloyd hit the front stretch with a narrow lead over Ikerrin Road before kicking away to take the 6-furlong synthetic surface sprint by 2 1/4 lengths in a final time of 1:08.46. “When we turned for home, another horse just came out a little bit and gave him a little touch and he said, ‘It’s time for me to go,’ and he just went on his own,” Da Silva said. “He’s a great horse and it’s like a dream to ride a horse like this. We are here every day working so hard to ride a great horse like him. Thank you everybody, good luck to everybody.” Ikerrin Road held third over Majestic Slew, while the rest of the field was strung out behind. Occasional View passed the fading early leaders, with Tombelaine completing the order of finish. Pink Lloyd finishes 2017 undefeated in eight starts, all stakes races at Woodbine – a track record. The 5-year-old son of Old Forester has career earnings of $650,864 with a record of 13-11-1-0 for trainer Robert P. Tiller. “He just won eight stakes in a row,” said Tiller. “What do you do for an encore here? He’s just a really good horse. He just likes to run by horses. We’re so proud of this animal. We’re so blessed to have him and I hope we can be around next year and have a lot more fun with him. This is the biggest thrill of my training career.” Pink Lloyd returned $3.20 to win, $2.10 to place, and $2.10 to show. Ikerrin Road brought back $3.10 to place and $2.20 to show, while Majestic Slew paid $3.80 to show.
