A field of seven 3-year-old colts were drawn Monday for the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby (G1) at Parx, headlined by Haskell Stakes (G1) winner Maximum Security and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner War of Will.
Ran at 1 1/8 miles, the rematch in the PA Derby marks the first time the two have faced each other since the the historic Kentucky Derby (G1), one in which we saw these two part of the bumping that led to the DQ.
The full field from the rail out includes: Math Wizard, Improbable, Shanghai Superfly, War of Will, Spun to Run, Mr. Money, and Maximum Security.

The event is set for race 11 on a 13 race extravaganza. NBC will be on hand to televise the contest, which has a local post time of 5:48 PM ET.
Also on the card is the $1 million Cotillion Stakes (G1), a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” race. Ran at 1 1/16 miles, the Cotillion features Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Serengeti Empress, undefeated Acorn (G1) and Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) winner Guarana, Santa Anita Oaks (G1) winner Bellafina, and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Jaywalk.
The winner of the Cotillion Stakes will receive an automatic position in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Longines Distaff (G1) this fall at Santa Anita Park.
