NEW ORLEANS, LA – JPS Racing’s Logical Myth stalked the early pace, then drew off in the stretch to be the clear winner in Saturday’s $125,000 Colonel E. R. Bradley Stakes at Fair Grounds.
Logical Myth broke from the rail under Adam Beschizza at 3/1 odds and tucked in just behind early pacesetters Big Agenda and Spectacular Gem, who fought closely through opening fractions of :23.59, :48.17, and 1:12.29.
Cutting the far corner sharply, Logical Myth found an opening along the inside and shot forward. The Joe Sharp trainee kicked clear in the stretch to win the 1 1/16-mile firm turf route by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:42.13.
Big Agenda held off the 2/1 favorite Spectacular Gem by a nose for second, while Peace Achieved and Sailing Solo finished in a dead heat for fourth.
Vettori Kin, Split the Wickets, My Boy Jack, and Maraud completed the order of finish.
Captivating Moon and Mr. Misunderstood were scratched.
Logical Myth’s win was his third straight, all over this course including the Diliberto Memorial Stakes last time out. The 5-year-old Data Link gelding’s record stands at 18-7-2-1 with $255,536 earned.
Logical Myth returned $8 to win, $4.40 to place, and $2.80 to show. Big Agenda brought back $5.80 to place and $4 to show, while Spectacular Gem paid $3.20 to show.
