Likely Winners

#2 Tiznow R J (FL) – Everything came together for this guy last time out!  After a near miss in his debut at Churchill Downs in a maiden race that seemed to be loaded, and then a terrible trip where he clipped heels and finished third, Tiznow R J put it all together last time out at the Fair Grounds winning by an eye popping thirteen lengths.  Based off that performance, and his solid company line, I think he’s a definite bet back today as he throws his hat into the Kentucky Derby chase.  Look for him to go to the front and never look back.

#11 Eagle (KY) – This one will likely be your favorite, and has received quite a bit of hype since that fast closing third in the Kentucky Jockey Club last time out.  The winner of that race, El Kabeir, came back to crush his competition in the Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct so that definitely makes Eagle look even better.  He’ll have to overcome the far outside post, but if he can work out a decent enough trip then I could see him getting the job done this time.

#4 War Story (KY) – Two career races…two workman like victories where he basically cruised home!  War Story has the top Fair Ground connections, a win over the surface, and a two turn pedigree that suggests he will be dangerous.  This will be a move up in class, but it’s the perfect starting off point for him.  His speed figure will have to improve slightly, but I think this one has more gears than what we’ve seen from him so far.
