The press release:

Making her 2024 debut, Juddmonte’s homebred Accede collared Godolphin’s Amaretti in midstretch and scored a 1¾-length victory in the $120,000 Headley Purse on Wednesday at Keeneland.

The win moved Juddmonte into a tie with Godolphin atop the list of leading owners at the current Keeneland meet with five wins each. Winning jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. scored his 15th victory of the season to move into a tie with Tyler Gaffalione.

Trained by Chad Brown, the meet’s second-leading trainer with eight wins, Accede captured the 6-furlong race in 1:10.71.

Accede, a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Into Mischief, is out of the Mizzen Mast mare Jibboom, who won Keeneland’s Lexus Raven Run (G2) in 2007. Today’s victory was worth $73,470 to increase Accede’s career earnings to $263,650 with a record of 7-3-0-1.

The winner paid $5.56, $2.66 and $2.22. Favored Amaretti, with Jose Ortiz aboard, returned $2.62 and $2.10 and finished 3¾ lengths in front of Ervadean, who paid $2.64 to show under Julien Leparoux.
