Jack Christopher Top Single-Entry Favorite In Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1

LOUISVILLE, KY – Trainer Chad Brown’s undefeated 2-year-old Jack Christopher – scratched from the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) with a minor injury – was made the single-entry morning line favorite at 10/1 for the 2022 Kentucky Derby (G1) Future Wager Pool 1.

The cover-all-bases bet known as “All Other Colts And Geldings From The 2019 Foal Crop” is the resounding even-money favorite overall.

According to KentuckyDerby.com, “The traditional Kentucky Derby and Oaks Future Wagers are an opportunity for fans to bet early in the racing season on horses whom they think have the potential to earn a spot in the starting gate and go on to win the Kentucky Derby and Oaks races. Future Wager bets typically offer larger payouts than betting the same horse on race day because it is not yet known which horses will ultimately qualify to run in the Derby and Oaks.”

No Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool will include any horses currently under the care of trainers who have been suspended from competing in the Kentucky Derby. Therefore, Bob Baffert trainees Corniche, Messier, Pinehurst, and Rockefeller are not valid betting options in Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1.

Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1 begins Thursday, November 25, at noon and ends Sunday, November 28, at 6 PM (all times Eastern).

Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 will be held from January 21-23, Pool 3 from February 11-13, Pool 4 from March 11-13, and the final Pool 5 from March 31-April 2.

Kentucky Oaks Future Wager Pool 1, as well as a Kentucky Oaks/Derby Dougle Future Wager Pool, will be available March 11-13.
