The Jerry Hollendorfer trained Instagrand and the All Others option closed as favorites in Pool 2 of the Breeders’ Cup Future Wager on Sunday. There was a total of $59,450.07 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Pool and $13,369.00 in the Juvenile Sire Future Wager.
The Breeders’ Cup Future Wager gives bettors the opportunity to lock down potential Breeders’ Cup contenders early as they compete towards locking in starts for their specific divisions. A future wager bet can offer larger payouts for horses who win their Breeders’ Cup race because the fields are still relatively unknown. For example, if Instagrand wins his last prep race, he will go off at far lower odds than the 7/2 price he closed at in this wagering pool on the day of the actual race.

There will be one more pool for bettors to take advantage of this year that will take place on October 5th – 7th. This pool will once again feature the Breeders’ Cup Classic, along with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf. Pool 1 also featured the Breeders’ Cup Classic which favored Accelerate to win the race at odds of 3/1. Second choice was Catholic Boy at 7/1. Pool 3 will be the first time the Breeders’ Cup Turf will be offered as a future wager.
