Imperial Hint Trounces Field in $100,000 Donald LeVine Memorial

BENSALEM, PA – Raymond Mamone’s Imperial Hint continued his mid-Atlantic sprinting dominance, trouncing a small field of four in Monday’s $100,000 Donald LeVine Memorial at Parx Racing.

Taking the lead away from Lewys Vaporizer just past the opening 1/4-mile marker, Imperial Hint pulled away from the field so strongly that jockey Javier Castellano kept him tightly wrapped. Despite that, his final time of 1:07.55 was .04 seconds shy of the track record for a 6-furlong race, set in 2011 by Royal Currier.

Life in Shambles was up for second but never threatened the winner, finishing 6 3/4 lengths behind. Fast Friar and Lewys Vaporizer completed the order of finish. A Fleet Attitude was scratched.

The victory was the fourth in as many starts this year for the son of Imperialism. The 4-year-old colt’s record now stands at 12-8-1-0 with career earnings of $560,155 and appears to be bound for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Del Mar in November.
