Getridofwhatailesu Breaks Through in Pippin

HOT SPRINGS, AR – Making her debut at this level, the Elkstone Group’s Getridofwhatailesu broke through for her first stakes score in Saturday’s $150,000 Pippin at Oaklawn Park.

Getridofwhatailesu broke from post 3 under Joe Rocco Jr. and settled at the rear of the field heading into the clubhouse turn while Wicked Whisper and Graysonsmacho Gal dueled through opening fractions of :23.42 and :47.13.

Though she looked ready to explode midway through the far turn, Getridofwhatailesu was forced to wait for room, eventually splitting horses and running four-wide off the far turn.

With nothing but clean air in front of her, Getridofwhatailesu kicked home strongly down the middle of the lane, flying past temporary leader Our Super Freak late and winning by 1 1/2 lengths.

The Brad Cox trainee completed the 1-mile fast dirt route in 1:38.56.

Our Super Freak was 3/4 of a length past Istan Council, who headed Chance to Shine for third.

Wicked Whisper, Figure It Out, His Glory, Graysonsmacho Gal, Blessed Again, and Regal Beauty completed the order of finish.

The 5/2 favorite Vault tossed her head and refused to break when the gates sprung open, then walked off under her own power shortly thereafter.

Getridofwhatailesu’s win was her second straight following an allowance victory over this course last March, making this her first start in 10 months. The 5-year-old Ghostzapper mare’s record now stands at 7-4-2-0 with $259,197 earned.

Getridofwhatailesu returned $19.20 to win, $8.60 to place, and $5.60 to show. Our Super Freak brought back $6 to place and $4 to show, while Istan Council paid $3.80 to show.
