Gam’s Mission broke from post 7 under Adam Beschizza at 6/1 odds and sat back early as Postnup dueled with the 7/5 favorite Spanish Loveaffair through opening fractions of :24.55, :49.56, and 1:14.27.
Tipped out in the far turn to commence a rally, Gam’s Mission straightened for home with the bettors’ choice in her sights.
Hustling three-wide around Spanish Loveaffair and Flown, Gam’s Mission edged her way past in the late stages before crossing 3/4 of a length the best.
The Cherie DeVaux trainee stopped the clock at 1:51.02 for the 1 1/8-mile firm turf route.
“I was pretty confident with her stepping up to this distance,” Beschizza said. “She seems to have a very nice kick. Since she broke her maiden, she’s really started to put things together. We didn’t go quite fast, but the pace was a little testing.”
Spanish Loveaffair held off the early stalker Flown for second by a head, with a late-charging Oyster Box 3/4 of a length behind them in fourth.
Barista, Munnyfor Ro, Line Dancing, and Postnup completed the order of finish. Saranya scratched.

Gam’s Mission’s win was her third straight and came in her stakes debut after breaking her maiden at Fair Grounds in March and defeating local first-level allowance company. The Noble Mission filly’s record now stands at 4-3-1-0 with $201,258 earned.
Gam’s Mission returned $14.20 to win, $5.80 to place, and $3.80 to show. Spanish Loveaffair brought back $3.40 to place and $2.40 to show. Flown paid $3 to show.
