Essential Quality Vaults To Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 4 Favoritism

LOUISVILLE, KY – After his smashing 2021 debut victory in last weekend’s Southwest Stakes (G3), Godolphin homebred Essential Quality vaulted to 7/2 favoritism on the morning line for the upcoming Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) Pool 4.

Wagering for KDFW Pool 4 opens March 5 at 12:00 PM and closes March 7 at 6:00 PM (both times Eastern). Fans without racetrack or simulcast center access can legally wager online through ADWs such as NYRA Bets and TVG.

The lone Kentucky Oaks (G1) Future Wager Pool runs concurrently with Pool 4 of the KDFW.

The KDFW features $2 Win and Exacta wagering on possible entrants in the Kentucky Derby (G1), America’s greatest race and the first leg of the Triple Crown. The 2021 edition is scheduled for Saturday, May 1.

There are no refunds in the KDFW. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s three-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
