Dynatail Smokes Susquehanna Rivals

GRANTVILLE, PA – Ballybrit Stable’s Dynatail tracked the early pace before exploding in the stretch and smoking her rivals in Saturday’s $100,000 Susquehanna Stakes at Penn National.

Breaking from post 2 under Luis Saez as the 1/2 favorite, Dynatail stalked outside of early leader Unbridled Escape through tepid opening fractions of :23.91, :49.10, and 1:14.02. Ranging up in the far turn to meet the pacesetter’s throat latch, Dynatail took over near the top of the stretch and shook clear.

Mildly kept to task to ensure a safe lead, the Mike Dini trainee hit the wire with a 2-length advantage in a final time of 1:46.12 over the yielding turf course.

Enchanted Ghost split foes from the rear to get up for a clear second by 3 1/4 lengths over Souper Striking. Further strung out behind them came I’ll Take the Cake and an empty Unbridled Escape to complete the order of finish.

Dynatail returned $3 to win, $2.20 to place, and $2.10 to show. Enchanted Ghost brought back $3.20 to place and $2.20 to show, while Souper Striking paid $2.20 to show.
