Named for California Champion Crystal Water, who won both the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1) at age 4 in 1977, the Crystal Water is sponsored by the CTBA and is part of the lucrative Golden State Series for eligible horses bred or sired in California
