Five changes this week as we get closer to the big day.
Classic: Game On Dude – Still my pick for another week. Too many factors going his way right now.
Ladies Classic: Royal Delta – Now I’m hearing Royal Delta will run in this spot, so she’s my top choice. However, this is going to be a very difficult race. She is not a slam dunk like some people think.
Mile: Wise Dan – Just brilliant at Keeneland over the weekend. I’ve heard some people pushing for him to run in the Classic, but I think that would be a mistake. He’s a monster at a mile.
Turf: Optimizer – He worked a bullet last Monday. Getting ready!
Juvenile: Power Broker – I was impressed with Shanghai Bobby this weekend, but I like the home track advantage of Power Broker.
Dirt Mile: Shackleford – I’m still searching hard for someone else to pick in this race, but as of right now Shackleford is the choice.
Turf Sprint: Bridgetown – Big win for him at Keeneland so I’ll stick by him for another week.
Sprint: Coil – Yet another Bob Baffert horse that should have a major shot to win on Breeders Cup day.
Filly and Mare Sprint: It’s Tricky – Many of you probably were disappointed with her effort this week against Royal Delta, but I was not. Why? Because now I think they’ll spot this horse where she belongs…the Filly and Mare Sprint OR the Dirt Mile. She’ll be tough in either one.
Juvenile Turf: Noble Tune – There are a lot of names to choose from here, but I think Noble Tune has been the most impressive of the group. Still believe Brown Almighty can compete as well with a clean trip.
Filly and Mare Turf: Nahrain – Not thrilled with this selection, but her win in the Flower Bowl is enough for me to keep her in this spot.
Juvenile Filly: Executiveprivilege – The competition is going to be really stiff, but I just can’t pick against Executiveprivilege
Juvenile Filly Turf: Watsdachances – Chad Brown is loaded with 2 year old turfers…can’t go against him.
Marathon: Eldaafer – He wasn’t good in the Hawthorne Gold Cup this weekend, but he’s still my pick until we find out who will actually be pointing towards this race.
Juvenile Sprint: Beholder – What an eye-popping performance by her this week. Yet another filly that I think can beat the boys in this one.
