Blame Game: Can the Son of Blame Be a Triple Crown Horse?

Blame Game: Can the Son of Blame Be a Triple Crown Horse?

THE BOTTOM SIDE OF HIS PEDIGREE

A) DAM: LA PASCUA (SWI)
Blame Game’s dam is the Switzerland mare La Pascua.

  • La Pascua (SWI) foaled two stakes winners neither of which won going longer than 9 furlongs (1 1/8 mile).
  • Blame Game’s Dam also produced a filly named Lemon Drop Cello who would go on to be the dam of American Derby winner Cozzetti.
  • All of these signs add up to the likely hood that Blame Game will not find running a route of ground a problem on his Dam side.

B.) BROODMARE SIRE: CAERLEON
Blame Games broodmare sire is Caerleon.

Caerleon, leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland in 1988 and 1991
Caerleon, leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland in 1988 and 1991
  • Caerleon was twice the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Caerleon sired stakes winner in America including
    • Missionary Ridge – Winner of the 1 1/4 Pacific Classic
    • Kostroma – Multiple G1 winner who set a world record for 1 1/8 miles on the grass
    • Auriette – Winner of the 1 1/4 honeymoon handicap
    • Coretta – Two time winner of the 1 1/2 mile La Prevoyante Handicap
      • It seems that Caerleon sired horses that preferred a distance of ground.

C.) Further Back In Bottom Pedigree
Other names in Blame Games pedigree include Nijinski, Round Table, Northern Dancer and Pricequillo all names I like to see in a bottom side of a horses pedigree if they are going to be running long.
