ARCADIA, CA – Easily the most impressive juvenile winner of the current meeting, the Luis Mendez-trained Big City Lights looms a complete standout among five 2-year-olds going 5 furlongs in Sunday’s $100,000 Fasig-Tipton Futurity at Santa Anita.
Off at 1/2, Big City Lights was hustled from his number 2 post position and was immediately in charge heading into the far turn. In a monstrous performance, he won off by 12 1/2 lengths with his ears up while earning a stratospheric 93 Beyer Speed figure.
