Beholder Records Final Workout at Santa Anita Park

Beholder looked amazing in final workout at Santa Anita Park in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Thursday morning, Beholder officially worked five furlongs under jockey Gary Stevens in 1:02 flat, according to Santa Anita’s clockers.

“All she’s got to do is stay like she was, and she’s not staying like she was—she’s taking steps forward,” Stevens said. “I watch her every day and I’ve got a lot of faith in the guy in the hat over there.”

On Wednesday, Triple Crown winner American Pharoah impressed as he officially worked seven furlongs with jockey Martin Garcia aboard in 1:23 flat. These two look to be firing on all cylinders heading into the Breeders’ Cup.

According to reports, Beholder is scheduled to ship to Keeneland Monday and will have one workout over the surface before the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
